He suggests expanding the chessboard to 100 squares and at the same time increasing the number of pieces, 4 on each side, including two pawns and two newly introduced pieces.
Of these latter pieces, Capablanca suggests that one should be endowed with the powers of a knight and a rook, and the other with the powers of a bishop and a knight.
